Ashtanga Yoga Preseli, a 108 Studio Partner with the Give Back Yoga Foundation, is holding a Yoga Mala of 108 Sun Salutations. This is a beautiful way to mark the season and take your practice beyond the mat by contributing to a wider cause. What: 108 sun salutations – modifications and adaptations welcome. OR contribute your energy by chanting your mala Where: our hosts Yoga Satsanga Ashram, Ardwyn Grange, Login, Whitland SA34 0UY When: Solstice 2017, Wednesday June 21, 12-3pm (please note, you do not need to stay the entire time. We have scheduled a three-hour block to allow everyone enough time to complete at their own pace, but many people will finish sooner and there's no need to stay until 3pm). How: To enter as a sponsored participant and raise money before the event please use the Crowdrise event. You can also donate on the day or contact AYP for more details. Contact: Sasha at AYP, [email protected], 07950922295, www.facebook.com/ashtangayogapreseli This is meant to be as inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable as possible, so please don't be intimidated by the idea of 108 sun salutations! You will be able to do any type that you are comfortable with, with any modifications, and at your own pace. If it's more appropriate for you, you can plan to do a 'half mala' of 54 instead, and of course no one will be keeping score so each participant will do as much, or as gently, as they can. There will be a separate space for people who want to participate but cannot join in the physical yoga - you are invited to chant in 108 repetitions. To give you an idea, going at a steady but moderate pace, 108 sun salutations (ashtanga series A, slightly modified, and including a few minutes of rest time), should take between 1 - 1.5 hours. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch. Give Back Yoga Foundation runs programs and projects around the world making yoga accessible to disadvantaged and vulnerable groups.
